Meet Ibaïa (pronounced ee-ba-iah). Ibaia is our amazingly talented Gold Coast based artist living on Bundjalung country, Australia, with her baby girl and her beautiful partner.
A little bit about Ibaia
She is French/Australian, having spent the first 12 years of her life in Paris.
She has always loved art. “Growing up it was just a way of passing the time, whole days would go by – if any of you are artists yourselves, you would know the time warp! – but really it was just me being entirely and completely absorbed in the details.
So, I figured out from very early on that all I wanted to do was art, and I found out pretty quickly once I started working, that it was the only thing I would not get sick of doing 😅”
Which eventually led her to Weddings!
Ibaia started wedding painting in 2022 through the wonderful @iampoppydesigns
She was overbooked, so Ibaia started doing her doubles!
“In all honestly, I wasn’t quite sure what I was saying yes to at first.. I said yes on a whim, and in need of another source of income while I finished my tattoo apprenticeship. But straight from the get-go I realised I actually quite enjoyed it.
Weddings bring people together, make people cry (happy tears), laugh, and there’s always an uplifting energy, and flowers! Beautiful foliage and florals which personally, make me very happy too.”
So here we are, 2024 and Ibaïa is one of our cherished artists at Live Artist Collective, and we can’t wait to see what she paints this year! 😍
The painting it absolutely stunning and we are in love with it! We have had nothing but compliments on the painting from all our friends and family. Jack and I both teared up when we received the painting as there are so many details that Ibaia caught that are just so us.
