When Did Maria Start Painting?
Maria’s artistic journey began in childhood with afterschool art classes, but it wasn’t until her final years of high school that painting began to call her back. Like many creatives, it was the 2020 lockdowns that truly reignited her passion. “Art came back into the forefront of my life during COVID,” she says. And we’re so glad it did!
Favourite Thing to Eat at Events?
“The food guests sneak me when they think no one is watching!” Maria laughs. Whether it’s a canapé passed under the radar or a treat from the dessert table, she’s not saying no.
Her Ultimate Dream Painting Location?
“Italy. Obviously!” Imagine it — Tuscan vineyards, golden sunsets, a couple in love, and Maria capturing it all on canvas. Dreamy doesn’t even begin to cover it.
Favourite Moment to Paint?
Maria has a soft spot for movement. “I love candid moments, and scenes where you can really feel the dancing.” Whether it’s the first spin around the dance floor or guests mid-boogie, she’s all about capturing the energy.
Most Unusual Request?
“I was once asked to paint an acoustic guitar!” Definitely not your average canvas — but Maria is always up for a creative challenge.
What’s One Thing People Don’t Realise About Live Painting?
“How social it is!” she says. Guests love asking questions, watching the process, and sometimes even sneaking her snacks. It’s art-meets-entertainment, and Maria brings both in spades.

Coffee. Music. And maybe a little nervous excitement (especially if she’s bubble-wrapping a giant canvas for travel).

Maria’s go-to shades are pinks and greens. “They just bring everything to life!” she says — and it shows in her soft, romantic palettes.

“One time at my friend’s wedding, her family and friends kept bringing me donuts from the donut tower. I probably had five while painting!”
